Child Care and Transporter
Ready for Life Foster Family Agency is seeking a qualified childcare worker/transporter for a part-time position with the potential for up to full-time. Seeking a qualified applicant with a minimum of 2 years’ experience caring for multiple children ages 3 months to 4 years.
Our agency provides on-site childcare services for employees. We are seeking a nurturing, loving, patient, fun, energetic, responsible and reliable caregiver for infants/toddlers. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Organize activities or implement a curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore interests
Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
Clean and sanitize all toys, wipe down all surfaces daily and vacuum regularly.
Check trashes each day and empty promptly when full.
Change all soiled bedding and place in the designated area for cleaning.
Maintain all equipment and monitors to ensure they are in good working condition.
Use equipment and supplies safely and conscientiously, keeping the physical environment clean and orderly.
Maintain confidentiality of child and family information at all times.
Promote feelings of security and trust in infants and toddlers.
Provide experiences that promote individual expression through conversation, play, and creativity. Talk, sing, and read to infants and toddlers frequently.
Respond quickly in a soothing and tender manner to cries or calls of distress. Provide daily care individually to each infant, including but not limited to, diapering every 2 hours and feeding on demand to ensure a consistent response to the need for food and comfort.
Tend to children's personal hygiene needs
Respect infants' curiosity about each other; ensure children treat each other gently.
Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision
Maintain a safe, clean, care-giving environment
Observes children to detect signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, emotional disturbance, or other special needs, and reports these signs immediately
Ensure parents receive adequate information about their child's experiences at the center through daily contact logs.
Transport agency foster children to needed appointments, visitation, etc.
Coordinate with service providers and professionals.
Provide group childcare at agency events and training.
Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a Driver’s License. Must receive a criminal record review (including Child Abuse, D.O.J., and FBI clearances) prior to beginning employment. Must receive a Health Screening (verifying good health) and a TB screening not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment Must submit a current DMV printout and a copy of vehicle registration. Additional education in child development a plus.
